The staff and Governors congratulate Y11 students on their hard work and wish them every success in their apprenticeships, sixth forms, colleges or employment.
We look forward to seeing you at the GCSE Presentation Evening - 3rd November.
An interpretation of statistics issued from the exam board in August 2006.
- 74% of students gained 5 GCSEs grades A*-C including English and Maths.
- It is worth noting that 30% of students took a “half” GCSE course in Information Technology combined with part 1 of the European Driving Licence (ECDL). They all passed ECDL and 100% gained A-C grades in I.T. This achievement will not be reflected on this years GCSE statistics because of the combined nature of the course.
- Grades in Expressive Arts and French were particularly high this year with 100% achieving A*-B.
- 74% of students opted for the Additional (Double) Science course. 100% achieved grades A*-C.
- Several students had particular learning difficulties. Nevertheless, 96% of the class achieved grades E and above in all subjects.
As a school which is non-selective and only has one Y11 class, our statistics may show quite a swing from year to year, influenced by the ability range of the particular class.
