The teacher in Lower School primarily nurtures, protects and guides the child, affirming their unique value to God. We use the metaphor of a shepherd to define this style. The values of a Christian family are reinforced and close involvement of parents in classroom life is expected.

The curriculum reflects the rapid growth of a child and the God-given curiosity, spontaneity and joy of childhood. We see the lower school years as the most formative.

"To know God" is the emphasis drawn from the vision statement and is seen as a key to growing in wisdom as Jesus did.
