The majority of CFS teachers are also parents who share the vision for Christian education. They have trusted their own children's schooling to CFS and have an personal commitment as part of the parent body.

We believe that Christian parents will want to delegate their parental authority to Christian role models, people who understand their responsibility towards the next generation.

A delegated role (in loco parentis) requires the teachers' frame of reference to be God's instruction to parents regarding the upbringing of children.

This involves:

  • Providing for physical health and safety, nurturing emotional development, affirming worth and identity (including gender), and imparting vision for the young person's place and purpose in community.
  • Teaching respect for adults who have responsibility for their safety and welfare, based on the honouring of parents and of God Himself.
  • Directing the will and conscience and nurturing responsiveness to moral training e.g. truthfulness, self-control, healthy relationships and right choices.
  • Teaching about all of God's works and covenant relationships, demonstrated in creation and history, and interpreted in the Bible.
  • Discovering his ongoing purposes, promises and perspectives.
  • Developing understanding, creative and critical thinking.

The curriculum in Christian Fellowship School is being developed within a framework of biblical principles applied to 21st century life. Our central message is that Jesus Christ is Lord of all and that the Kingdom of God is to be worked out in all areas of society and the environment.
We consider schooling to be part of discipling the next generation, reflecting the heart of any parent or church youth-worker.
