The staff and Governors congratulate Y11 students on their hard work and wish them every success in their apprenticeships, sixth forms, colleges or employment. Governors also express their appreciation for the dedication of their teachers.
An interpretation of GCSE statistics issued from the exam board in August 2010. These statistics include the RS results for this cohort taken one year early.
Core Subjects
- 100 % gained 5 or more GCSE A* - C grades.
- 75% gained A* - C grades including both English and Mathematics. This represents a similar figure to last year, although English improved gaining 100% A* - C.
- 100% also gained A* - C grades in Religious Studies as a core subject.
- 83% of students were awarded a full Information Technology Qualification (ITQ), a national qualification made up of 3 units. Others are still completing the third unit. This was also a core subject.
- 75% gained GCSE A* - C grades in Science.
- 100% of those who took Additional Science gained GCSE
A* - C grades.
Option Subjects
- 100% gained GCSE A* - C in the following Option subjects: Art & Design (Textiles), Art & Design Unendorsed, Business Studies, English Literature, Expressive Arts, Geography and History. This is a wider range of Options than last year achieving high results.
- 100% A* - A was a particularly outstanding performance in History.
- We offered both Italian and Spanish as appropriate to the bi-lingual students who gained A*.
- 70% gained A* - C in French. No puplis gained lower than GCSE D.
This year all pupils took GCSE examinations rather than alternative awards such as National Unit Awards or Entry level.
As a non-selective school with only one Y11 class, our statistics may show quite a swing from year to year, influenced by the ability range of the particular class.

NB. We are flexible about allowing pupils to spend an extra year in Lower or Middle schools if appropriate. This can affect the perceived achievements of a cohort in Upper school. When government statistics are based on all those aged 15 rather than those in Y11 sitting GCSEs, the figures include any who are aged 15 but still in Y10 not sitting GCSE this year. This may make official statistics appear lower than is really the case.
