Curriculum - Enrichment

The life of our school cannot be described by the formal curriculum. There is usually a terrific sense of anticipation and enthusiasm as excursion groups regularly pass through the foyer.

High points in the year are eagerly planned. There are always unexpected challenges and frequent visitors. There is a sense of freshness and vibrancy as the learning flows in and out of the classroom and in and out of the school. Doing things together creates real appreciation of each other.

We are an outward-looking school and seek opportunities for children to be involved in activities that serve the wider community.

The young people look forward to:

  • A cultural exchange experience week with a Dutch school.
  • A trip to Belguim.
  • A week at an adventure centre in Wales.
  • A day in London and a visit to the Houses of Parliament.
  • Field trips to Martin Mere Wildfowl Centre, Chester Zoo, local farms, Ainsdale nature reserve, the Sefton coast, the Wild Flower Centre, Underwater Street, Gordale Garden Centre - full details>
  • Educational visits to Science, Maritime and History museums, historic buildings such as Speke Hall and the Anglican Cathedral, Style Mill, Little Moreton Hall and art galleries - full details>
  • Swimming Gala, Sports Day, the Performance Arts evening and parties.
  • Art, chess, music and sports clubs and student-led Bible studies and Worship Group.
