September 2022 - job share would be considered
CFS is looking to employ a SENDCo to run an established SEND department. The successful applicant will be a qualified teacher with knowledge and experience of SEND provision.
Hours of paid work
We see working at CFS as part of our Christian calling to serve the Church through education and the payment structure for this role reflects this vision.
More about the role
This position would enable you to fulfil a critical role in our development as a school where all pupils flourish and discover their unique calling and gifting. We have a higher than average proportion of pupils on the SEND register but strategic and skilful support has enabled them to make very good progress compared with national averages. You would be taking over an established SEND department and developing it further, responding to new national guidelines and emerging needs within the school.
A key benefit of working at CFS is the opportunity it affords committed professionals to put their knowledge, skills, experience and enthusiasm to work in fulfilment of a Christian vocation to education. We can guarantee plenty of challenges but also the reward of being part of a caring, faith-filled team committed to supporting one another.
As our SENDCo you would be part of the Senior Leadership Team and contribute to the development of whole school policies and strategies, contributing your particular insight about how they can best be adapted to meet the needs of SEND pupils effectively. You will also play a key role liaising with external agencies and supporting parents in securing appropriate provision for their children.
Additionally, the applicant must be a practising Christian (occupational requirement under Part 1 of schedule 9 to the Equality Act 2010).
If you are interested in this post, please email the Assistant Head of Communications & Operations on firstname.lastname@example.org, giving your phone contact details so we can call you for an initial conversation. Interested applicants will be sent an application pack with a job description and further details about the qualifications, experience and skills we are looking for. If we proceed with your application, the school will take up three references prior to interview.
The Governors and Staff of Christian Fellowship School take seriously the responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all the children and young people entrusted to our care and it is our expectation that all staff and volunteers will share this commitment. Completion of an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check is a requirement for anyone working at the school.
