Summer term
Welcome back, and we trust that families have had an enjoyable Easter break.
Next year’s term dates have now been agreed and been added to the website diary.
We would also like to draw your attention to the INSET days this term. These are staff training with focus time on our ongoing development of the school’s curriculum and related matters.
A reminder that for years 7 to 11 these days are ideally suited for exam revision but also for social and educational trips. These are a great opportunity for the community to organise family outings and meet ups. Families sometimes ask for extra days off school in the days before or after INSETs to extend a family holiday, but we would remind parents that having time off in term times should only be requested in exceptional circumstances.
INSET days this term are as follows:
Tuesday 3rd May (following Monday 2nd May bank holiday)
Monday 6th and Tuesday 7th June (following half term).
One other date reminder for all parents is for the RSE (Relationships and Sex Education) Parent Forum to which all parents are invited. You will hear more detail about our programme on this subject from Reception to year 11, see some of the materials we use, and have time to comment and ask questions. We have planned a daytime and an evening session so parents can choose which is most convenient. Please consider coming to these sessions as though coming to a PFC evening this term.
The RSE dates are as follows:
Monday 23rd May 2.00 - 3.15pm
Tuesday 24th May 7.30 - 9.15pm.
We plan to let you know about more dates including Sports Day, parents’ evenings and some class trips by the end of next week.
Finally, we would like to draw your attention to a number of staff vacancies which we would like to let you know about and we would be grateful if you can pass these on to your friends and contacts in your Churches and Christian circles.
The adverts can be found HERE on the website.
Once again we thank you for your support and a special thanks to parents who have signed up for GCSE invigilation this term.
